Brief Description of S.A.I.L

• S.A.I.L. offers one-on-one instruction to all S.A.I.L. enrolled children and youth;

• S.A.I.L. Related Service Personnel includes two (2) Occupational Therapists (OT), a Sensory Integration (SI) Therapist, a Speech and Language Pathologist (Ph.D., SLP), a Music Therapist (MT), an Art Therapist (AT), AND a School Psychologist. All National Board Registered and/or Ohio Licensed.

• S.A.I.L. is a National Academy of Sciences researched-based 12-month model program serving toddlers needing early-and intensive interventions;

S.A.I.L. offers free tuition to families with children under the age of three 3 through Private Scholarships.

• S.A.I.L. espouses the Standards and Curricula as mandated by the Ohio Department of Education, Office of Exceptional Children;
• S.A.I.L. serves PreK – 10th grades;

• S.A.I.L. offers inclusion programming within a neuro-typical classroom – with S.A.I.L. Instructor support, at SunBridge Schools, Elementary and Preparatory sites;

• S.A.I.L. tuition, for twelve (12) months, is FULLY and COMPLETELY covered by the Ohio Department of Education Autism Scholarship Program (ODE-ASP).

Eligibility for FREE SERVICES!!

• S.A.I.L. accepts and instructs every child and student one-to-one (1-1), free of charge, toddlers, under the age of three (3) with suspected autism spectrum disorder (ASD);
• S.A.I.L. accepts and instructs (1-1) tuition-FREE all children and adolescents qualifying for the Ohio Department of Education Autism Scholarship, i.e., K-10th grade, with primary diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).
• S.A.I.L. requires the following documents for enrollment:

1. The child's current and active Educational Team Report (ETR) from the District of Residence;
2. The child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) from the District of Residence;
3. The child's birth certificate.
4. Three (3) Proofs of Residency.
5. The ASP Application completed.

The major goal of S.A.I.L. is to provide individualized one-on-one developmental instruction and intensive services in ultimate preparation for inclusion within a neuro-typical classroom. S.A.I.L. builds and enhances maximum growth in the following domains: cognitive, academic, affective, sensory, social, emotional, physical, linguistic, musical, and aesthetic.

S.A.I.L. is driven by each child's ETR, IEP, and the mandated State Standards of The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Common Core Ohio. S.A.I.L. utilizes competency-based instruction, direct instruction, and small group instruction. Currently published textbooks and workbooks used at S.A.I.L. reflect diverse ODE curriculum content areas, viz., Science, Mathematical Domains, Structure, Reasoning, Analysis and Interpretations, Measurement, Health, History, Social Studies, Geography, Collective Inquiry, Reading, English, American Literature, English Literature, Classics, Language Arts, Grammar, Written Expression, Spelling, Listening, and Media and Technology.

S.A.I.L. adheres to the published academic standards of the Ohio Department of Education, viz., National Common Core Standards, utilizing currently published texts and materials reflecting the Common Core Curriculum: Authors: (i.) The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, (ii.) The Council of Chief State School Officers; (iii.) The National Governors' Association Center for Best Practices, and (iv.) The Council of Chief State School Officers, Washington, D.C.
